I started my disc jockey career in Chicago while going to broadcasting school. I worked at several Chicago nightclubs on weekends learning the art of mixing music from some of the best disc jockeys in the country, but I wanted more. I went to Dallas,Texas and worked at a number of venues on the famous Greenville Avenue and at this time I started to work wedding receptions and pool parties all over the Metroplex. Soon I found myself at Cowboys, the biggest country nightclub in the country. The bands played country and between sets I played popular dance cuts to keep the 5,000 seat club electric and full of energy. You couldn’t see the 5,200 square foot dance floor most of the time. At Cowboys I opened for some of the biggest names in music and ended up establishing friendships with many. This four year gig landed me a job with Capitol records in Nashville. I was the Nightclub Promotions Rep. and made sure every nightclub DJ had our newest music. During this time I also worked at the Crystal Chandelier in Atlanta. That was the biggest venue east of the Mississippi and just like Cowboys, this one held about 5,000 patrons. People began requesting me to Deejay at wedding receptions and private parties and I was also being invited to speak at major DJ conventions in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Soon I cut back on nightclub work and started doing Mobile DJ work full time and just a few club gigs on the side. In 1996 I left the clubs completely to be a full time Mobile DJ and on the side I worked when needed as a PA Announcer in Atlanta for college basketball and arena football. In 2000 left Atlanta to come back to where I grew up. I wanted to raise my daughter away from the city and I wanted to be closer to my mom, to look after her.
Meet Ashley (Wildfire).
Ashley’s my daughter and she has been assisting me load in and set up events for several years. She’s learning the business from the ground up. Ashley won’t deejay at your event but she is a very important part of Magic Moment Entertainment. She helps with the load in and tear down. Recently she’s become the lighting director and is doing a great job. Ashley helps me greet your guests when they come up to request a song. She always has a smile!
